You surely heard about the first public bioethanol pump in Italy for ethanol-bioethanol or flexible-fuel vehicles. The pump is in Sarzana at the Centro Gas Pump of Stagnoni in via della Concia and is part of the BEST project(Bioethanol for Sustainable Transport).

From a point of view of environmental advantages, polluting emissions with respect to petrol are: carbon monoxide (less than 20/25%), COV and HC (less than 10/15%), benzene (less than 20/30%), nitrogen oxide (less than 5%).

The filling station has been realized by ACAM in the two methane pumps already existing, thus realizing the first two multi-fuel "ecological" stations. Also in this case are important the problems discussed about authorizations and regulations.

The two under construction stations will refuel Bioethanol Buses that are part of the BEST Project and will be able to distribute fuel also to motorists who want to try low ethanol and bioethanol content petrol- ethanol bioethanol mixtures.
