It is an image loved by all La Spezia citizens that of the Turrinelli trolleybus moving with difficulty along the way towards Fezzano;

100 years have gone by since when, in 1906 in La Spezia, was created one of the first European trolleybus plants : a long history of electric vehicles and urban fabric positively marked, strengthen by public transport infrastructures; an history of ups and downs, of development and reversion, but that has always fended off the unlucky result of the dismantlement that put an end to the trolleybus line story of many Italian cities.

After the first trolleybus period from 1906 to 1909, here are some dates: in 1951 the Fiat 668 substitutes Tram; in 1953, trolleybus to Muggiano and Cadimare; in 1963, Alfa 1000 trolleybus; in 1975, bodies in light alloy by Mauri; in 1988, the innovative Breda reduced truck trolley, designed by Pininfarina, with air-conditioning.
